About Scottsdale Bead Supply

A Family Tradition
Founded in 1993, Scottsdale Bead Supply grew from its roots in a quaint white farm house in Old Town Scottsdale to the stylish showroom it is today. Its owners, Mike and Kelly Charveaux, are masterful designers of jewelry, as well as custom inlay and silver components. Three years ago, the company moved into a state-of-the-art, 5000 square foot showroom that features beads from all over the world: Japanese Delicas, African trade beads, Bali silver, local artisan lamp glass, and everything in between. The store carries only the finest quality of pearls, Austrian crystals, precious,andsemi-precious gemstones. While we do have an amazing showroom, we also offer a bustling mail-order service for our out-of-town clients.

For jewelry artists, Scottsdale Bead Supply is an unbeatable resource. The store hosts guest instructors in all sorts and levels of skills, including the very basics of finishing a bracelet, pearl knotting, wire craft, and bead weaving. Additionally, we have a highly trained staff who would love to help you learn new techniques. Our resident instructors are extremely talented and always on hand to assist with any creation you have. For all of these reasons, Scottsdale Bead Supply was voted "Best Bead Store" in the Phoenix New Times for 2007. Our employees take great pride in their work and look forward to helping you create your next wearable work of art.

Kelly Charveaux & Michael Charveaux
Kelly Charveaux's fascination with gems, minerals and precious metals began at an early age. She was born in Faith, South Dakota, near the famous mineral and metal rich Black Hills region and adjoining Sloux Indian lands.

Ms Charveaux's early collection of rocks and arrowheads evolved into a job with a jewelry manufacturer. The die was cast. Kelly left college in order to study gemology at the Gemological Instititue of America (GIA). She furthered her education with classes at the renowned Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco.

Kelly Charveaux's beautifully unique designs along with the obsessive attention to quality and detail have led to her work being featured in Bead and Button Magazine, Oprah's Magazine "O" and Ornament Magazine.

Kelly, her husband, Michael, and his father Andrew, opened Scottsdale Bead Supply and Imports in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1993 with resounding success. Scottsdale Bead Supply features Bali, Thai and Israeli Silver among others, exquisite in-lay beads and pendants, the finest in art glass and trade beads and a vast collection of premier gemstone and mineral beads. The main attraction being their very own custom created designs.

Kelly, Mike and their son, Chris, have traveled much of the world, including Thailand, China, Japan and Mexico in search of gem and mineral treasures to share with the world.

Kelly Charveaux continues to push the creative envelope in jewelry design.
